All three Manor ISD middle school bands earned Sweepstake Victories—the highest ranking available—at the Region 26 UIL Concert March 8 and 9. These recognitions mark the first time in Manor ISD history where all middle schools earned the sweepstakes distinction.
A band earns the sweepstakes designation by receiving a Superior rating on stage (Division 1) and superior ratings in sight-reading (Division 1).
“The students and directors have worked really hard and put in some long hours to prepare for this contest,” said Manor ISD Fine Arts Director Renferd Joseph. “I am a very proud fine arts director today.”
This is also the inaugural year for the Manor New Tech Middle School band to perform in the contest, further commemorating the historic win for the middle school programs.
